I have had a VIPER for 5 years now,(RNE), and needed to renew my passport.I will be traveling to the USA in June. Will the VIPER card be sufficient along with my new passport to reenter Brazil when I return after 1 month or do I need to have my old passport and another travel Visa?

You can enter and leave brazil on just the card.....make sure to get the exit stamp on the exit card paper, makes getting in easier....ask for the cartão de saida when you are checkng in your bags.

I travelled all the way to a small colombian island in the caribbean and back last year only showing the RNE card the whole way, I was suprised they even reconized the card at a small harbour on an island of 5000 people in the heart of the Colombian Caribbean....no one raised an eye brow!
