Permenant residents goods.

Hi all
for the past few years while working through the time rules for Residency My son has had several boxes of his personal belongings stored ( in My garage) in the US. Always on the understanding that after residency personal belongings over one year old can be imported duty free. Searching through the  Gov regs and  we can  not find any information as to how one imports said belongings, and if a time limit on the importation. Any one with up to date information about this.

i went through this in the 90s when i moved to Belize, depending on what your bringing down, there is a list of items you cant bring in.... number  one  nothing new,... the next thing to do if you are bringing vehicles and such you have to write down  on a piece of paper all the items you are bringing in and go to finance minister , dean barrow  and ask for exemptions, otherwise you will pay duty on every thing , the rules here change with every body you talk to.   greed has taken hold of this country.

WOW, that is new info to me, It never came up in my many discussion with long time expats, or ones from the last few years. The only thing even close to that I have ever heard of is the QRP program, but as we both know that is different from the residency program and handled by a different branch of the government.

Is it possible that is an old program/rule and was replaced in the QRP??

Perhaps check with some of the freight importers, there have been several recomended by others in this forum.
