I'd like to use some oil based paint on some of the things around the house.
They have a few kinds at Ace Hardware. Usually in Australia I use turps to
clean my brushes. I looked around but couldn't find turps or anything else
that might do the job. looked in a few other places too. It seems that they all
sell oil based paint but no paint thinner. I asked a few assistants but only got
a blank look and the equivalent of " Que ? " ( What ? ) So come on guys. What's
the answer ? I just know it's going to be something really simple ... lol

You should be able to get white spirit from the smaller hardware stores which you can find scattered about all over the place.

Try and a Mitra store or a small builder store or paraffin which is simple to find

You can simply ask for "Thinner A" or "Thinner A Special" for that purpose.

That is the technical name for the thinner in Indonesia. The brand name can be various.
