Bonus not paid as the employee is in the Notice period

Hi Friends,

I am working in a company in Muscat. I have resigned the present job and is currently serving my notice period. I have still 2 more months of notice period to serve ( total 3 months notice period). Last week, my company paid bonus to all staff for their performance last year. I did not receive my bonus as they are saying I am already leaving the company.
As this is for the performance of last year and also I am still in the company payroll, am I not eligible for it? Please advise.

Hi nsba234,

Handing over your resignation has unfortunately been ill-timed.

While technically what you are saying is correct and you are indeed eligible for the last year's performance bonus, the company can waive it off since you have decided to move on.

There is nothing really you can do about it, except maybe make a sincere plea to your management to reconsider their decision.
