Hi All,

I have been offered a job in Oslo, Norway with almost 60k per month as salary(before Tax)

Can you please help me with:

1) An estimate on the tax i would be paying.
2) Is medical free in Norway or i will need to buy Insurance
3) Average rent and utilities

I am married with no children.

hi,

1) https://www.skatteetaten.no/en/person/taxes/ has information on the tax system.
2) Private insurance is available and some choose to purchase it, but the public system contributions should be covered by your employer (they pay a percentage in that covers your healthcare). There are of course copays when you go to the doctor and get prescriptions, but they won't be a huge burden at the salary you've mentioned.
3) it really depends on where you plan to live in the city, what size apartment you have, and how efficient it is. Also, some places include heat, some don't. I lived in a small studio in Frogner/Majorstua for under 10000NOK and only paid a few hundred NOK in electricity. But for a married couple it might not have been such a comfortable place.
