Tarjeta de residencia temporal: Denegar, Denied

Post new topic

Jhuenzy

Good day,

I am in the process of obtaining my residency card and just received a letter from the government stating that it was denied based on health insurance. My Spanish is not great but from what I gather from the letter is that it has to do with my health insurance not being up to Spanish standard. My health insurance is worldwide with Allianz, which is a reputable company. But I am also non-EU and I am wondering if it is more of an issue of my being Jamaican. What can a person do in these circumstances? Do I now need to get a lawyer?

I must be full cover without any excess charges

It must be written in Spanish or be accompanied with an official translation

Maybe your cover did not comply with that

Thank you for your reply, but it did. This is why I don’t understand. It was in Spanish it included “sin copago y sin carencia” it covers Spain. Goes up to 500 k euro. I really don’t understand. Do I appeal this? Do you have any idea how long it takes?

I can only suggest you either get the letter translated so that you understand the reason or go to the office where you submitted the application and ask them   It will not be because you are non EU   Only nonEU nationals can apply for residentia

I went there today after being sent to two other offices. Spoke to a lady in terrible Spanglish. She had a look at my insurance and was also baffled. She took it to her boss and came back 10 mins later saying it was a mistake my information is correct and they will send a new letter within a week. I am hoping tomorrow I will be able to check online and it is now favorable instead of denegar. I just don’t want to waste any more time.

Thank you for your help and hopefully it will be as she says..

I am glad  that taking my advice, collected in my work with the police,  you received the good result I predicted

Regards. John
