Myself and boyfriend are looking to rent in the Netherlands.

any tips on where to look or where would be best to go for 6 months?

any towns to look into in the surrounding area that is affordable and nice.

You have already asked the QUESTION. As Cynic pointed out it would be best to stay at an Airbnb cheaply then once there, look for the right place.

I hope that helps.

I didn't feel as that gave enough insight,

I was looking more for opinions or advice on what towns to look into living in. And advice on what places I can live in for just 6 months only and where to find them.

Hi and welcome back,

Holland isn't that big, on a good day you can drive across it in just over a couple of hours.  If you want somewhere to start, then I'd use something like that Pararius website link (it has a distance filter built into it) I gave you previously, then start with Utrecht (it's in the middle of Holland), then work your way out until you find somewhere you like and can afford, then use Google Maps to look at the area, then check it out for real once you get here.

6 - months only - I think you'll struggle with; most ask for a minimum 12-months contract and a deposit up front.  But who knows, as they say in Holland, you have no, you may get yes; all you can do is ask the landlord when you see a place you like.

Hope this helps.

Hi! I am  new member of this community.  I am from the Philippines.  My wife has a pending application of one of the hotels in amsterdam.  But, they ask if she has arrange for a place to temporarily stay, before they can proceed. anyone can advice me of a cheaper rooms for rent there and any filipino possibly renting a room? Please, i need your inputs.  You can also email me at: the_servant@yahoo.com.  Thanks and i would appreciate any inputs.

Hi John and welcome to the Forum.

I'll be surprised if you are able to find somewhere like you describe until you are actually in Holland; the majority of people are not willing to let accommodation lay empty waiting for you to sort out the immigration and travel arrangements.

You could try telling them AirBnB.

Hope this helps.

Hi! Cynic. Thank you for the immediate reply. Yes I understand your point. The thing is, they want to have a sure accommodation. The reason is, they experienced cancelling employment in the final stage before, because the supposed employee was not able to get an accommodation.

The airbnb you mention is the barangay bed and breakfast? I also send them a message. They forwarded me axfacebook page of Filipino groups in Holland.

I just wish to find someone who can  accommodate her for few months, until she can find her own accommodation. Just to proceed with the application. Anyone can help? Thanks cynic

Hi! Dominique,

Got hold of your message. I'm interested to know of some details with regards to your apartment. My wife has a pending application in a local hotel. The employer wants her to find an accomodation first. Your timing is appropriate and 6 months i think is enough for her to find another place.

How much  would it be? Can you give us the best price?, considering she is new  to the place and just starting work. We can discuss this on ***.  Thanks.
