Hi, I am coming to Germany on September 2011. I would like to know some information regarding the Bonn area.

1) what is the average rent of a two rooms house near the University of Bonn area(around 2 kilometers)?

2) what is the price of rice per kilogram and name and website of good Indian grocery stops at Bonn?

Hello Hasan,

referring to the average rent it depends on how much space (m²)you want. Living space close to the University is quite expensive as it is Bonn midtown. For 2 rooms e.g 40-50m² which means 1 bedroom, 1 livingroom, 1 kitchen and 1 bathroom you should calculate a rent excluding heating bills or service charges between 300,- € and 450,- €. Every month there will be additional cost for electricity, gas/oil, waste taxes etc.
If it is your intension to study here you maybe find a place in a  flat sharing community that might be cheaper.

Rice is quite cheap here. You can buy it in every supermarket. Depending on the quality you want it is between 0,50 € to 2,- €. Supermarkets around here usually do not sell it per kg but in small packages containing 250gr or 500gr.
I do not know a particular Indian grocery store but we have small Asian shops around here. ;-)
