Does anyone know if the VNese banks have any negotiable instruments e.g. cashiers checks?

LittleHanoiDreaming

I think we do have. You can go to bank and ask for help.

Even in the link above, they still said "To have more information, please contact one of our specialists for detailed consulting and instruction on the products".

Vietcombank is  one of leading Vietnamese bank, so I suggest you should go there.

As hard as they make it to send money out of the country, I'd be very surprised if you could just walk in and get one. Good luck!

Thanks I will check that out further.

My lurpose for wanting is to pay child support in country. So it is not lije I am moving money out of the country.

If you just want to pay child support, you can use other ways:

(i) open your bank account;
(ii) create ATM or debit or credit card depends on your decision using option that you are main account holder and your child is the secondary holder.
Then give that card to your child and both of you can withdraw money in country.

Or simply use transfer money via western union or banks:

(pls. see transfer funds in section 3. Personal Banking).
