American Seeking Job Seeker Permit in Germany

Post new topic

rescino

Hello All. I have reviewed the qualifications of the job seeker permit in Germany and feel I meet all qualifications. However I have a few additional questions

1. It says you need proof of accommodation or residence permit. Are there exceptions to this? Can I show I have enough funds to secure something? Can it be a short term room in an apartment or airbnb?

2. How do I find out a list of which travel or health insurances is acceptable ? Is it general?

3. Am I allowed to travel outside Germany in case of vacation or emergencies on this permit?

4. What if I get offered a job from a company in another country in the EU on this permit? Is that okay as well?

1. No exceptions as far as I know. Just book a hotel or AirBnB for the initial few weeks.
2.There is no such list, but Google can help you find the options.
3. Yes.
4. Of course that is o.k., but then you need to apply for a work permit in that country (instead of converting your JSV to a German one).
