Hello,
My name is Josefina. Me and my family are deciding whether to move to Torino or not. One of our enquirers is how is it to be pregnant and give birth in Turín.
People say the public hospitals are OK. So, would it be Ok not to have an insurance or is it necessary in case of pregnancy ?
Which hospital would you recommend? Any doctor suggestions?

Hi Josefina! My name is Shelsa and I happened to be a physician in Italy. If you do not got a job here in Italy, you should have a medical insurance. Public hospital are good. L'Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Città della Salute e della Scienza di Torino is a good hospital!

Thank you very much for your answer. My husband will have a Job and we will have residence. But, apart from that i think i will also take an insurance just to feel free to choose doctors or hospitals. In that case, would it be necessary?

Hello.
Since your husband will have a job here, ask for residenza and pay taxes, his whole family (nucleo familiare) will benefit from SSN (sistema sanitario nazionale) and will have access to healthcare as any other Italian citizen. You really don't need any additional health insurance.
