Good Evening guys,
I've just stumbled over this site, and am currently majorly considering a move to live/work in Malta
looking at St Julian / Sliema area..

A little about me and the move, i am 26.. and would be a big risk?? i guess moving ALONE
to Malta, I am from United Kingdom, (Leeds)
and heavily considering moving to Malta,

I am currently looking at the jobs on websites, and just wondering ..
if i moved alone, maybe for a month to malta, how easy would i find work, would it be a great decision..

The line of work i will be looking at is, I've noticed their is alot of casino jobs which i could do,
Or hospitality Chef/Waitering/Hotel work/Butchering work.

I would be looking to flat share, which also maybe risky? i have signed up on facebook for flat share groups to hopefully find someone,

The move would be in November.

Welcome to the Forum, have you ever visited Malta before?  If not, it would be advisable to come here for a short break before deciding on working here.

Thanks for the reply, Yes i visited for a short break where i stayed in Sliema,
and visited Café del Mar Malta which was brilliant!

I enjoyed the short stay that i was here, and obviously the weather was a big bonus.
But i had money to spend, has i was  taking vacation.

Also, seeing has i would be alone... how easy will i find it to make new friends around the  place.

Generally in those sectors you won’t have issues finding jobs. Plenty of young people around etc. Less flat sharing than in the UK but it’s getting more popular.

Off season work is harder to find and winters are harsh. With a sense of adventure and open mind I would say go for it

Compared to Wakefield the winters are very mild just cooler indoors
then out.

Burke92

For sure i am open minded, and i've read the winter accomodation is hard, with no central heating,
but hopefully a few layers of clothing, and a thick duvet i should be fine, and hot water..

i am on job sites currently, and they seems to be quite a few jobs advertised, i guess i would have to come over for a week/two and try find a job/flat.

the only thing "doubting" in my mind, is not finding people to hang with

and for new friends and the earning wage has a chef/waiter
will i be above float or struggling to live?

Burke92

And seeing has Sliema would be expensive to rent, alone/share flat

where would be good to rent nearby to Sliema?

Hey mate,

I’m like you, 25 from the U.K. and moving out for a job in st Julian’s/ Selima area. Looking to house share as it’s quite expensive but also a way of meeting new people.
PM me if you want to chat
