Advice needed on Istanbul living

Tesekkurler!! Really helpful... I think my main question is in which area to live as it’s such a huge city and I haven’t managed to explore that much yet. I know it’s very subjective but I like boho, quirky areas with sophistication and nice cafes, good places to buy fruit, veg, meat etc (I’m a food writer) and as green as Istanbul gets with a calmer vibe. Traditional houses etc... I loved Balat. What about the Asian side?

1 you can even find around 1200-2000. not so central though. asian is better yes

2 turist visa then residence visa

3 there are so few english publications in Turkey. thats the hard part of finding a good one here

4 you have to learn turkish otherwise everyone would try to ... you (deceive:)

5 normally yes it is if you arent  too hot and appealing cloths

6 ofc. there are lots of expats here. Just dont be introvert!

7 Turkish people are mostly hospital and friendly. If you aren't from Syria it wont be a problem

Thanks! I know from my previous visits that Turks are generally lovely and hospitable. I will, of course, try to learn some Turkish. And I'm happy to make an effort to meet people wherever I am.

My Turkish friend told me that there are lots of Syrians. I am very excited about cming to live there!!
