I suggest to browse the threads in this forum.  We have many threads from job seekers where myself and other people have given advice.  Repetition of the same information is a waste of everyone's time especially for generic questions.

As far as your field is concerned, locomotives are not a big thing in Bahrain.  There is no rail network here or even plans in the near future for one - it is just too small a place (they only started public transport i.e. buses a few years ago).  So I am doubtful that your skills are cross portable.   Also, the industrial plants in Bahrain are not that many and there a lot of local Bahraini technicians qualified in those - this is different from the rest of the GCC where these jobs are usually filled by expats (Bahrain, through its Tamkeen program, gives incentives to organization for technical training i.e. you get money back / subsidies if you train locals.  And there are a lot of good government funded institutes for these training programs).  So no locomotives re: your specialization and as far as the generic skills are concerned, your competition would be vs. locals who are preferred for employment due to less red tape / cost involved.

I would personally recommend you to check in Saudi or UAE for this particular field - they have rail networks & mass transit systems (in place and planned).  Not saying that you won't find anything here in Bahrain but the chances would be better in those countries.
