Visa problem (unresolved)

Post new topic

SaudiQ99

Hello fellow expats,

I’m a western expat here teaching in Saudi Arabia on a visa issued by the company that I work for.

The current visa in which I’m working on is a business visa (even though it states not permitted to work on there) whereby I have to exit the country every 90 days but has a validity of 1 year.

I’ve had some serious issues with the company and no longer want to work for them.

Update -

I left the company as they didn’t deem that I was good enough to work at their school which is what they told me.

I joined another company which they were not aware of as they didn’t need me at the time. Now a week later they’ve turned around and want me back now, they informed me to either come back or I’ll be reported to the jawazat.

It sounds like a threat but is this even possible since I’m on a business visa and not an Iqama?

Yes.  Your business visa is sponsored for by them.  They can block that visa which will prevent you from exiting Saudi or entering.   Plus since you are not able to work on that visa, Jawazat can fine and deport you if reported and proven (it is very easy.  All they have to do is tell Jawazat that you were sponsored to visit them for business and you started to work at another company.  One visit from Jawazat at the new company premises is all it will take to create problems for you - just you being present there and sitting at a desk is proof enough).  Read the forum threads, there is a guy who is in a somewhat similar situation as you - his visa has been blocked.
