Hi,

My passport name and the education certificate name does not match because in passport full name is written and in education certificate the middle name and last name has only the initial letter. example:

Sita K J  - In Education Certificate and Sita Kumari Jain - In Passport.

MOM is not accepting this.

Want to know if I get a Affidavit from authorized body which is also notarized that says both names are of the same person. Will it work?

Regards,
CF

MoM or any Govt bodies will accept such mismatch. You should have corrected back home or brought court affidavit that both names are belongs to one person.

If you are in your home country then do the above. If you are already in Singapore then visit your country embassy (assuming you are Indian, do visit BLS an authorised vendor for Indian embassy to collect the documents for an affidavit from High Commissioner of India). Below link can help (call and find out what are the documents you need carry - bring photo copies of one set of documents as they charge to make copy in their office):

You can certainly ask your educational institution to issue a certificate with your correct name, can't you?

Educational institutes have refused for it. We tried Passport name change but Passport office in Mumbai has stopped writing the middle and the last name as initials. That is where we got stuck.

Well then you do not have a certificate - at least in the eyes of diligent buerocrats. Sorry, but you have to submit correct documents to be recognised by them!

Beppi, in this same case if we submit a affidavit issued by a Authorised notary public as both names belongs to the same person, MOM will accept the request and approve EP? Please clarify

@Slvntl32 I do not know. Ask MoM!

But why wouldn't you get a correct certificate instead?

Hi Beppi, My passport name and the education certificate name does not match because in passport full name is written as Mubasshar Qumar Bhatti and in education certificate name is written as Mubasshar Qumar Bhati. Means last name spellings are not matching. Will it work to apply Canada, UK, UAE visa?

@mubasshar198 This is the Singapore forum - why don't you ask on the relevant country forums where ou want to apply for a visa?

But I am sure no buerocrat in the world would accept this. Different name means different person! Therefore, you should get a correct document - I assume the wrong one is your degree certificate, so ask your school to issue a corrected one!
