LOOKING FOR VILLA FOR LONG TERM RENT - MOUGINS, VALBONNE AREA

Post new topic

jessiN

Hello,

We are planning to move to French Riviera and looking to settle down around Mougins or Valbonne area as we would like to be close to International schools.
Could you please give us any tips where to search for long term properties and recommend English speaking real estate agencies that are dealing with expats? I read that regulations in France are quite strict when comes to long term rents and was wondering if we can rent  house without being employed in France ?
Thank you for any advice provided!

Hello Jessi,
I would recommend you to check the FB groups like - property for sale or rent as you will be able to reach owners directly
It is true that some owners can require upfront payment if you cannot provide documents required by French authorities - french salary slips which needs to be 3 times higher than rental price or french guarant. You can also check out portal as www.leboncoin.fr if you can speak some french, however the most of the owners will require all the documents which is extremely hard to get for expats ..
We used liveonriviera.com for our relocation and were happy with the service

Hmm the names are not displayed so again - leboncoin is the french portal, liveonriviera is the agency we were using and you can also check seloger - another french portal

We had ourselves trouble renting in France and needed to give bank guarantee,  documents you might be asked to provide :

This is also very good site if you speak French

Hi Jessy!
Sure, you can rent a house without being employed, as in France there are no regulations that do not allow purchasing property for non-residents. As for finding a decent place to live in, of course, you could do it yourself. But there are certain risks, as you can easily be scammed, just as one of my friends was once. So I would advise you buying through a real estate agent or broker. But finding can also turn into a challenge. Personally,  when buying a villa in Nice a couple of years ago we spent weeks searching for a decent service. If you are interested in details, message me and we can discuss my experience of purchasing our villa.

I hope I gave you some helpful information.
Alex.
