Hi can anybody lend some advice?
I am South African, my Grandad was Mauritian. Is it possible for me to get a Mauritan Passport?

To obtain a Mauritian passport, you must first be a citizen of Mauritius.

A person born outside Mauritius is a citizen of Mauritius under section 20(3) and 23 of the Constitution if either of his parents is a citizen of Mauritius by birth.

HI,

To be holder of a Mauritian passport, you have to be a Mauritian citizen first.

And since it's your grand father who was Mauritian and not one of your parents, you do not qualify for Mauritian citizenship.

You will have to live in Mauritius for a specified number of years before you can make an application for citizenship so you wish.
