Hi,
I applied for the visa, that's visa type D, I had submitted my rent document and rental agreement and all other mandatory documents from the checklist that VFS provided.
meanwhile I was asked to submit the document " Proof of the registration certificate of the lease/contract of the apartment in Belgium." does this tally with my rent or rental agreement document? or its some other document I have to submit. Please help out!
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
While understanding your situation, this question has already been answered many times on many posts. Please read the old threads as advised in the charter of conduct.
There is a formal procedure for the registration of rental contracts by the lessor.

Please I have applied family reunification art 40 and I submitted my application 2weeks ago. So I checked on my application status I saw IMPORTED what does it mean. Thank u
It probably means that your appliation is now with the Belgian authorities i.e. moved from the consulate to Beligan immigration authorities.
thank you very much geetanjali chaturvedi
Hi Aneesh. Good morning. I would like to confirm if my family can apply family reunion visa immediately I get my study? Or should I arrive Belgium first and get a suitable appartement ? I also want to confirm if takes more than 6months to approve family reunion visa. Non EU nationals.
Thank you
Hello,
I'm from Mongolia and currently living and studying in Australia with student visa.
I met my fiancé here, he is from Belgium and we are together for 8 months now. And now we want to move to Belgium and looking for a Belgium long stay visa for me and the best solution looks like reunion visa for me..
My question is - Can I apply for reunion long stay visa from Australia while on a Student Visa?
- Can we apply while my fiancé is here in Australia with me? aka he can't proof that he has job and income in Belgium..
- Can we get married and apply within a month? and lived together less than a year.. ( or how long time required to proof we are together and what are the most important documents for reunion visa)
Thank you for your help!
Hello Shivam and Forum members
Thanks for sharing the information in detail. Could you please help me with the below queries regarding the single permit process.
`1) PCC -> While applying for PCC in the passport website in India, I came across three options
1) PCC for residence
2) PCC for Visa/Work Permit
3) PCC for long stay.
I applied using the option Visa/Work permit and got my PCC delivered. But my current address is not mentioned in the PCC. The third party agent who is processing my application in Belgium requested a PCC for Good conduct which covers at least one year of my residence here in India .
Could you please let me know if you had faced any similar problem with PCC..?
Is the address really required in the PCC..? I didn't find this information anywhere in the official websites
What was the option selected by you when applying for the PCC in the passport website.
2) I understand this process starts with Single permit application. I am moving with my Spouse as a dependent and just wanted to understand if any of my spouse documents are required at this stage .
I believe spouse documents comes into picture once my permit is approved and they are only required during my application with VFS India. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong
3) Regarding the apostille . I read some replies from Aneesh and some members of this forum that the documents like birth certificate, Marriage Certificate need not be recently issues, but the apostille stamp should not be older than 6 months . Even here I have some confusion as I was requested to reapply all the documents with issue date within the last 6 months and then go for the apostille process by my agent.
4) In my marriage certificate , My wife's Surname is not expanded but in the passport it is expanded. Is there anyone in the forum who faced similar issue and got through the process..?
Finally thank you for reading my questions . Lack of proper information is delaying my documentation process and your answers can really help.
Special thanks to Aneesh. Many of this past replies already answered many of my questions.
Regards,
Arun
Hi
All the documents should be issued and apostilled within 6 months of the application.
Name error will become an issue, please get it corrected as my husband's name was misspelled in the marriage certificate and we had to get it corrected.
you can apply for your family's visa along with your visa, that's the quickest. Otherwise, it takes 6-12 months.
PCC - I am not aware, please check in the checklist of VFS.
Hello Violetkm,
Thanks for your response. In the Marriage Certificate there is no error in terms of name but Surname is not expanded for example
Given Name: Arun
Surname : xyz
In the passport it is expanded but in the marriage certificate it is Arun X
It is a common practice in some states in India to just have an initial.
I checked here locally with the authorities responsible for the same and I got a response that no changes can be made in the marriage certificate. Not sure how to proceed.
- Arun
As for Belgium Immigration name in the passport and marriage certificate should be same. If you are still in India, get a "same person" affidavit done. Please consult a lawyer, they know the process.
Hello Violetkm,
I am still in India. I can get the same person affidavit done if that is accepted.
Did you submit same person affidavit for your case. and is it accepted..?
This should be apostilled as well..?
Regards,
Arun
If you do it in India that needs to be apostilled. Since you are already there, I think you should just get the name change done through affidavit and then by publishing in the paper as this issue always comes up when you apply for any visa, PR and citizenship. Consult a lawyer, they know the process.
Since my husband is already in Belgium, immigration has asked us to get an affidavit done through Indian embassy in Brussels. It is under process.
Hello Violetkm,
Thanks a lot for your quick response. I didn't understand your last response completely. Please correct me if I am wrong
I understand that, since both of you or one of you is/are already in brussels. The embassy asked you to submit same person affidavit for the name mismatch
But your suggestion is to get the name corrected permanently (If we are in India) in the marriage certificate by approaching a lawyer and the process may involve a affidavit from lawyer for name change and publishing in local news paper.
- Arun
Only my husband is in Belgium, I am outside of Belgium and have applied for family reunification visa.
its best to get your name thing sorted permanently affidavit and then publish in the newspapers and then they will reissue the marriage certificate.
Hello Violetkm,
Thank you for your responses. Your inputs really helped to decide on this issue.
Hello All forum members,
Could some one suggest me on the other points in my first post. Is the address required on PCC issued by PSK for single permit application or just a good conduct is fine ..?
Regards,
Arun
Hello Adeyola,
Thanks for response.
To get an address on the PCC , do we need to make any special request...? I selected the option visa/workpermit while applying for PCC and it doesn't have any address. Not sure if I should select any other option like residence as a purpose while applying for it . Any idea on this part.
-Arun
I don't know how it's done in India but in Africa, you just supply the police or court agent incharge of issuing such docs and an address ( where you currently live) is one of the requirements. As per online application for PCC, I don't have any idea
Hello Adeyola,
Thanks for the information.

Dear forum members,
Could some one help me with the process in India for PCC application.
What option should I choose between
1) Employment Visa/ Work Permit
2) Long Term Visa/Stay
3) Residence permit
4) Immigration purpose other than citizenship
I am confused as the third party consultant applying on behalf of my employer for the work permit,
requested a PCC for good conduct and also covering at least last 12 months of my residence.
I am applying for both me and my spouse and purpose may be different for both of us as well.
Regards,
Arun
It's employment visa for you, dependent visa for your wife
Don't be confused,. Everything will turn out well
Hey folks,
Did anyone of you apply and got the work permit recently. What was the processing time? (Flanders/Antwerp)
My agent has informed me to expect delays due to holiday season.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks a lot
A
Wao, this is interesting. Congratulations!
Thank you so much. This is good reference. But let me ask, how did you go about the house contact? I am trying to speed up getting a house in Belgium. I am currently outside Belgium, have completed my enrollment at the university of Antwerp. I am wondering if I can pay for a two/ three bedroom flat if I am outside Belgium.
Thank you
Hi,
I have following situation...
I am employed with IT Indian company on expat contract. That's why even after working 5 years my PR application is rejected by commune.
But My spouse has completed 5.5 years in Belgium and working for local Belgian company for 4.5 years. She came with me as dependent but after some time she found a job in local Belgian company. She also got her status change from dependent to independent in the commune. Now I would like to know
if my spouse will be eligible for Permanent residence card ??..
and Which Permanent card will she be eligible B or D?
If she get permanent card then Will her spouse and kids be eligible for Permanent residence?
Any advice will be usefull.
thanks
Did you recived your single permit or still waiting.
Well, that's complex...
How long has she been pregnant?
if she's more than 7 & a half months, she'll most likely never be allowed to travel (by plane), and so... you'll need to wait for the baby to get born...
And I think that's what immigration is waiting for...
They can't give/grant a visa on a baby which is NOT born yet... (birth certificate/own passport or passport linked to the mother in this case/...)
Well... then it can takes up to 9 months............................................ like any other family reunion of non-EU...
If the baby would have been born in Belgium or in Europe, your baby would automatically received the resident permit, but as your wife went to India to deliver...........
And be careful about how many days your wife stay outside Belgium, she might not be able to receive more return visa in the future if she stay outside for too long!
Immigration/embassy would state that there's clearly a lack of interest for her to stay in Belgium, so no point to grant another return visa.
She should travel and get back her resident permit with the return visa she just received!
Just to be sure, is your baby's birth certificate legalized?
Then I find it strange that the immigration has not issued his visa. It looks unfair and unjust.
But sorry let me ask a personal question: why did your wife leave Belgium to go give birth in India?
Ok, let's hope for the best. It's all we can do.
Hi,
Does anyone knows the usual time period it takes to receive a Belgian dependent spouse visa for a Non-EU partner when applied from Delhi. I applied on 23.11.2021, my documents are still processing at Belgian Embassy.
Thank you.
