hello friends,

I'm indonesian and my EP application is in category 1, my question is that once my EP approved then can i enter malaysia using only VAL (approval letter) or do i need a VDR (visa with reference) to enter malaysia?

Thanks

Not sure about the latest rule here. Basically it's not permitted to exchange a tourist visa for an Employment Pass (which is why a VDR is required). But I guess you don't need a tourist visa as you get a certain number of days to remain on a visa-free entry?

Good to ask your HR if they needed to apply for a VDR or not? Problem is rules are currently changing.

Hi Gravitas,

Yes as an Indonesian I can visit Malaysia for 30 days without a need for visa.

I will ask HR and the agent they use for the EP process..

Thanks a lot for the reply ..

Category 3 EP will probably need a Calling Visa, but there again that category also needs medical clearance

Category 1 EP which country that doesn't need Calling Visa?
