Dual Nationality Pakistani-Mexican, allow?

Can a Pakistani citizen acquire the Mexican Nationality and maintain the two of them?

I don't think Pakistan has an agreement with Mexico for recognition of dual nationality.  So if you have it, the simplest way is to not declare it and travel to / enter Pakistan only on your Pakistani passport.   We have had lots of discussions on this same topic in the Turkey forum.  Use the search option to find those threads.

Hi Tati !
Im mexican too! :)

My husband got his mexican citizenship  and I can asure you from first hand that pakistan doesnt recognize the double nacionality although Mexico would .

So when my husband got his nationality, he went to  apply for his mexican ID and new mexican passport  ,so  then the pakistani embassy wouldnt give you any passport renewal or ID renewal or having almost anything to do with my husband      just for cultural invitations or religious gatherings only :) hehe .

For traveling he shows at the entry of pakistan ,his mexican passport so thats the only issue we always do the "foreign line"   n.n  , for everything else inside pakistan, he uses his normal pakistani ID  .

hope this helps you!

Gracias Liz. My Pakistani hubby does not want to acquire the mexican citizenship because he does not want to 'lose' his pakistani one. I was trying to find an option to keep both, sent emails to the embassy asking but no reply so far. Gracias por la información de primera mano. Then, your hubby cannot update his passport, what about national ID? Has he faced any issues in Pakistani for acquiring MX citizenship?

Well we live in Mexico so for my husband was more practical to have the mexican passport . So it would be more easy to do things like , buy and sell real statements , bank loans , access to more easy visa processes to any country without the ormal investigation or total deny of it from many other countries.

And yes he cant renew his pakistani passport or his paksitani ID .

But because we dont live in pakistan as our residency just for vacation , he uses his ID as normal , his driving license as always, havent had any issue  for traveling inside Pakistan.

Just that we need to pay visa for entry the country  :D  hehe, like any other foreigner , so we just tramit a multipass and got rid of the yearly process ;) .

Do you live en Pakistan?

We live in UAE. We Visit Pakistan 1 or 2 times per year. Saludos Liz
