Renewal of Passport and re-entry to Italy

Post new topic

bisanbatt

Hello,

I am wondering if someone can help me with a question to which I have not been able to find an answer.

I live in Italy with a valid permesso di sioggiono and a passport that will expire in a few months. I plan on going to my country to renew my passport, which means that I will exit Italy with one passport and enter with a new one. I was wondering if anyone can help me understand if that is OK and whether I need to do something about this matter. I do not want to have any problems with the border control but I have not been able to get this information so if anyone can advise I would really appreciate it.

Grazie

When u renew ur passport  u can keep the old passport cancelled and the new one. So I'm sure u  don't have problem.

Aneesh

Yes, it is perfectly ok. Like mentioned above, your old passport will be cancelled and given back to you.

On the contrary,  when one renews a US passport...the old, cancelled one is not returned.

But He  didn't said about USA lol.
