Is Costa Rica a viable option for our family

Post new topic

A&J2Gnosis

Hello my wife and two children are thinking of relocating  to Costa Rica. We have some savings put away but would want to work there as well if that is possible so we can live as comfortably as possible. I understand there are some restrictions as far as visas and residency and with working in the country. Any info would help us.  Thank you so much!

Hi A&J2Gnosis,

Welcome to Expat.com :)

First of all, i would advise you to take your time and to go through the topics available in the Costa Rica forum, you will find some interesting information on the topics/subjects that interest the expatriates living there.

I also advise you to go through the Costa Rica living guide, you will find some more complementary data.
If you have more precise questions, please feel free to ask them on this platform so that you can receive more adequate responses.

Have a nice day,

Priscilla

Suggest you read, carefully, the information on Costa Rica Law regarding what is required to live and work here legally. If found to be working illegally, you and your family could be deported and will not be covered for healthcare without either residency or being legally employed.

Come and visit and check out various areas and schools before making any decisions. Most expats choose private schools for their children...and these are not cheap. For their diplomas to be recognized in their home country, they are required to attend an Internationally Accredited facility.

Sorry to say your relocation here is probably not a good plan as you cannot work here unless sponsored and getting sponsored is nearly impossible.
