Is the Bello area fairly safe. I was looking at the area near the Niquita Station. Apartments go for $70-$80000 US. Its close to eating establishments, the mall and the train. It seemed reasonably safe during the day, I know most foreigners stay close to Poblado, Envigado,

Safe as you make it.

I do know  guys who were robbed there at gunpoint though. But they were being really stupid.

You still gotta breathe that polluted Medellín air every day.which is the worst.thing.

Howz about a bit further out? Supposedly 15 minutos mas de Niquia......Giradota....closer to Barbosa.....How is that area? I know a lady out there.......Is it decent or a slum?

Quechimba

Never been there. Furthest North I have been is Copacabana. And that is still in the valley and highly poluted.

All my friends who have been living in Medeo for the past 10 years are thinking of moving out, the polution is sooo bad..

Ive got a furnished house, an elegantly furnished house I might add in Barbose which is about an hour to the north of Medallo, and media hora further north than Niquia.......Pretty sweet little town.....surprising level of economic activity....People real nice and attentive.........Lots of fat and strange looking humans here tho, mixed in with a small % of attractive ladies which you expect to find here in Colombia......Im beginning to think the women are more attractive in Cali than Medellin....Not that theyre not here, but cant believe the number of zombies cruisin around with purple or orange hair and rings in their noses and tatooed from head to toe.......cigarette dangling from their lips and zippin by you on a skateboard at 50 kph..........

And this news update from Colombia Reports is sobering:  https://colombiareports.com/farc-dissid … territory/

In regards to safety in Bello, I can only report what Ive been hearing and its not encouraging.....Every single Colombian I have asked has told me the same thing......Has been bad now for some time........I met a young lady on the bus to Barbosa who lives in Bello with her mom and sister and she told me that her sister and her were assaulted at gunpoint by a motorcycle sicario and hijacked of their humble funds and of course her iPhone which she ended up buying back from some other bad boy for only 20,000 becuz they discovered they couldnt use it.......and of course with a broken glass screen.........No I would not recommend living in Bello........
