Process of starting new job

Hello,

I read something about it but can someone confirm that German companies are doing medical tests during or after employment and you can get out of job because of them?
Also, how long can be the probation period when they offer a permanent contract?
Thanks.

beppi

German companies do NOT do medical checkups, except in a few professions where this is compulsory on safety or sanitary reasons.
A probation of up to 6 months can be contractually agreed on.
