Hiring a driver from a resort to Las Terrenas

Post new topic

Relaxahhh

We are looking for a driver to take us from Secrets Resort to Las Terrenas (we know this is a 4+ hr trip) for a day as we are considering a place to stay/rent a month a year.  Ideally we'd love to meet some expats who live there and learn from their experiences/suggestions as well as see what rental properties are like.  Any information would be very much appreciated.  We've been gathering information about Las Terrenas and trying to find transportation through our resort; but have come up pretty empty handed.  We just ran across this forum today and we leave for our trip tomorrow so it may be to late to put this together but it's worth a try.  We will be in the DR May 9 through 14.

I suppose you could UBER it...

Once at the hotel... sniff around....

Ask your driver from the airport.... he'll know somebody perhaps

Try Transfers.do for transportation.  We've used them for a number of trips between SDQ and Las Terrenas.

Las Terrenas as a resort is spread out over several beaches and not directly connected, so for a one day trip it will be best to focus on Playa Popi and Playa Las Ballenas and that section of town on the sea front. Playa Bonita and Playa Coson are further away but you can certainly easily see both on the way in and out. Lunch at Luis Restaurant on Coson and just a short distance off the incoming road is a favorite spot on Coson beach and very simple seafood and setting.

My recommendation for a hotel to stay over would be Hotel Alisei on Playa Las Ballenas and is just a short walk to Pueblo de Pescadores where there are restaurants and bars.
