Hi,

Committing to renting or buying accommodation when you’re new to or have not moved to Sri Lanka just yet is always a stressful endeavour. Would you like to help us in putting together a handbook of what to look out for when house hunting in Sri Lanka?

What are the most common scams in Sri Lanka?

What are the red flags to look out for when scanning through adverts?

Is there a list of registered or accredited landlords or real estate agencies in Sri Lanka?

What authorities should be sought should one come across an accommodation scam?

Please share your experience,

Bhavna

dear bhavana

the only scam you should be concerned is paying upfront / advance payments for properties always request for an office address land phone or reference

and all documentation related to the rental property has to be read clearly and sighed ,specially about the utility bill payments and maintenance fee in apartments ,

and if your documents related to the property is gone through a lawyer your in safe hands.

always physically examine the property through a relation or friend if you are going on short term rent and if you are  abroad.

there are numerous scams when it comes to property rentals and sales.

kindly note we are also  realtors in property business for 8 years.if you have any clients forward them to us we will make sure they will go through renting or buying process logically and safely
