are entry visas still 60 JD upon arrival it gets stamped right into my passport?
is this before or after the customs ?
is there a wait time or is it right away
is my passport taken away

Last time I came through in December they were 40 JDs (for a single entry).  No, they don't take your passport.    Just ask you some questions, where are you staying, etc. and put a stamp on it.  I believe it's good for 30 days and can be extended.  It took me longer than 30 days to get my residency card. If you have a residency card, then you no longer need a visa, but the card needs to be renewed every year.
