Barred by ICA but MOM Approved SPASS after 8 months.

Hi,

I'm from Philippines and I worked in F&B  in Singapore for 4 years. Until last Sept 2018, when my Pass is almost expire, I decided to go to Malaysia then went back to SG  after 2 days. Unfortunately, Immigration Officer barred me from entering Singapore and told me  that I can't enter SG for 2 years.

Then, after 7 months, I decided to e-mail the ICA  to check if I have pending undesirable records that will prevent me from entering SG and then after a week they replied that " I can enter Singapore as a normal visitor" so my Employer decided to apply an Spass and it was approved just now, 27 May. I have an IPA letter already.

    My only concern is,

   • Thinking about Immigration incident happened last 2018 , Do I need to worry entering SG next week even though I have an IPA letter and printed positive response of ICA? Is there a chance that they will barred me again if I try to enter singapore although MOM already approved my SPASS?

   • Do I need to double check with ICA again whether I still can enter or do I need Visit pass?

So Sorry. The case I stated is from my fiancé, which she don't know how to explain her situation on this forum so I explain it instead,on her behalf.

I just want to double check if there are still certain dangers of entering SG even though the agent told her that showing IPA letter will clear her from Immigration. Coz it worries me a lot even though ICA informed her that she can enter SG as normal visitor.

Hope I can find any useful tips on this forum. Thanks and Apologies.

Check with ICA and if they say yes then only immigration officials will allow you to enter. IPA letter can’t overwrite your ban.

Not sure looking at above case, why she was banned for 2yrs (they just deny your entry), unless there is something missing from your message. Was it verbally  told to ban 2yrs or somewhere it’s defined in passport or record?

She was banned because immigr. officials found out that she did exit malaysia and enter sg just to extend her stay,  Now I helped her email the ICA for appeal whether she definitely has records and ICA asked for her IPA to verify. It’s been 8 months after that incident so hoping that immigration will allow her this time.

For visa run, someone doesn’t get ban for 2yrs. She might have denied to re-enter Singapore but 2yrs ban never heard of, unless she has done same visa run multiple times.

Anyway, wait for ICA’s response. Good luck
