I am arriving Bangkok 2 July leave 2nd August 2019 is this an overstay?

Yes. Thirty day visa exempt entry starts on day you enter country.

You can extend your stay by 7 days at immigration office.

Thank you for your input, I should of used the old school rule

30 days has September,
April, June, and November.
When short February's done
All the rest have 31...

Thirty days hath September,
April, June, and November,
all the rest have thirty-one.
February has twenty-eight,
but leap year coming one in four
February then has one day more.
