Hi All, I am Shruti from India. I want to pursue my Masters in Computer science in Germany. Can anyone please suggest me good universities ?

As far as I know, there are two types of universities.
1) Technical universities - Mostly research oriented.
2) Applied Sciences - Practical based. More of job oriented.

I am not much interested or sure of doing PhD further. But now i am willing to do my masters.
Can anyone pease help and suggest some good univerisities in Germany so that i can apply for that university for this winter intake itself?

The website www.study-in.de gives all available courses at German universities, plus a lot of other useful information about studying here.
Since teaching is normally in German, my standard question: What are your language skills?

ShrutiKak

I would prefer to take up the course in English language.

As of now, i have A1 level of understanding in German Language.

Yes i have gone through the website study-in-germany.de.
I would like to know which place in germany can i look for colleges in terms of low living expense and good university/college as well.

Here is a website that gives information for foreign students and lists all programs offered in English.

But the idea that there is a German city with a good universtiy but is cheap to live is a fantasy. All university cities in Germany cost a lot . But there are many threads on this site about the ways to live as cheap as possible as a student.

If you are tight on finances, you should look for a course that is free or almost free (most English language ones cost a fee, and in some stated non-EU students have to pay a school fee as well). In addition, it might be a good idea to look for a city with plenty (and well-paid) part-time jobs -the places with cheap living usually have no jobs!

ShrutiKak

Thank you for this info.
When you say, look for the cities with plenty and well paid job opportunities, which all cities you refer to?
Munich, Berlin, Stuttgart, Homburg, Frankfurt, Aachen, are these the ones?
Could you please tell me which kind of part time jobs would be well paid for students ?

beppi

I don’t think anybody here knows and can compare all the cities you mentioned regarding the student job situation there.
In general, jobs that anybody can do and which do not need special skills are badly paid. So you should focus on a niche area where you have knowledge and prior work experience, so you can add more value for the employer. Then they would be willing to pay you more.

Okay..
Thank you so much :)
