Chinese legal requirements for living in China

I lived in the Philippines from 1995 until 2004. I was required to extend my visa after 355 days. What is the Chinese requirement?

I do not think there is any Chinese requirement on visa extensions in the Philippines. You might want to discuss this matter with the immigration officials in China.
