Unsure about Visa process

Post new topic

K. Green

Hi,
I’m from Swakopmund, Namibia. I will be starting a Nursing Ausbildung in Hamburg on 1st October 2019. My visa appointment is next week and I am a bit unsure of a few documents as many people mention extra documents online.

My paperwork for the visa has already been completed. With my work contract(listing my detailed work aswell as what I will receive monthly), hostel room contract/agreement, valid passport, visa application, 2 passport pictures, previous visas, police clearance certificate, letter+ work contract and bank statements (from my father who will also be supporting me financially), language certificates and also my recognized school leaving qualifications + needed copies of all these documents.

My travel insurance and flight ticket reservation will only be required after visa approval.

The only thing I am very unsure about is whether I need approval from the Bundesagentür für Arbeit or the federal employment agency beforehand or whether that is done during the visa process by the embassy?

As it is stated on a few websites that for a duales Ausbildung this is needed, though it does not state how or whether it should be done beforehand or whether the embassy handles it. I am also aware that my vocational training is on the positive list of  vocational professions and that would mean that I would not need this approval, though I’m quite unsure on the subject as different websites all have unclear answers.

Can anyone offer me any guidance on this subject?

It is part of the visa application process, if necessary.
