Hello everyone,

We would like to invite you to take part in a knowledge test based on Belize. Find a few questions below:

1. What is the capital city or administrative capital of Belize?
2. What currency is used in Belize?
3. List the national symbols of Belize.
4. What are the official languages or the ones used the most on a day-to-day basis?
5. Share with us the national motto.
6. Define Belize in one word.

Thank you for participating and have fun :)

Wow.... deleting the only answers you might get here, from three major contributors to this forum makes me wonder...

... it seems there is some censorship of replies here, but unclear as to why that is.

Well I don’t  live in Belize anymore ( thank the hypothetical supreme being) but i will take a shot  at this.
1. Belmopan is the capital. It used to be Belize City but many complained about dodging bullets and it will be under water soon anyway
2. The currency is very pretty and has the Queen as she looked in 1954
3. The national emblem is a rasta dude sharing a doobie with a tapir
4.English is the official language but only 4% of the population uses it. Instead Spanish is common. Also Belizean kriol which barely resembles English eg “d mon he done got one big goma and need shot of d rum, noh tru?”
5. National motto ( on top of the rasta and tapir emblem) : mango sub arbore somni diem
( under the mango tree I sleep all day)
6. lethargic

Humorous if nothing else.  :)
