Hello everyone,

Moving to the Netherlands without your significant other can be quite difficult, especially since your partner is an undeniable source of support. This kind of move may require some adjustments from both parties in order to make it a successful one.

What is challenging about being in a long distance relationship in the Netherlands?

How to maintain an adequate level of communication considering differing schedules and time zones?

How often would you travel to each other’s location to meet?

How do you manage to still have a social life in the Netherlands?

What hurdles need to be considered if you have left behind children who are under the sole care of your partner?

Thanks for sharing your experience,

You are welcome to try but I personally recommend you not to do it, my own personal experience, was 5 years on that kind of relationship and she dumped me without real reason, after I investigating a little be find out that this person was with another guy from before she started with me, both of us, Me and the other guys were traveler, me in Europe and he in USA, now she is with none of us but a new guy.  I guess she was between two loves or perhaps playing sort kind game. Just think about it before try.

Good luck

I think any kind of long-distance relationship can be fraught with dangers, both real and perceived.  In reality, if you don't think the other half is a potential long-term partner, then it's not really worth trying to make it work over long-distances because lack of faith in your relationship can create all sorts of mythical scenarios in your mind and make both lives a misery.
