I am in the midst of deciding whether or not to move from one island to another: from Bali to the Maldives. That's hotel industry for you and sometimes I love the adventure but sometimes I will do anything just to go to a ballet performance or a good restaurant on top of a building for a change. No more coconut trees please!

Hi Julien,

I have been in the industry for about 10 years, if I don't count the four years in hotel school. My reason for joining the hotel industry was to travel around the world while getting paid. I guess I just didn't expect I would be paid very little for traveling around the world!

Seriously, I love the industry. Everyday brings a new crisis to be solved or a story so ridiculous that people think I made it up.

Any hoteliers here in the forum?
