Just for fun: Unusual cultural habits in Malta and around the world

Post new topic

Diksha

In this Just for fun thread, we would like to highlight unconventional customs which make Malta stand out. This is a chance, at the same time, to learn about other countries’ equally interesting traditions.

1. Which country considers cats to be lucky? How about Malta?
2. In which country should you not write in red ink?
3. Is there anything like a 15-minute grace period in Malta or is showing up on time or earlier a common practice?
4. In which country do people greet each other by rubbing noses?
5. What is one custom associated with Maltese culture that you have found to be quite unusual?

Thanks for participating,
Diksha

We love our cats in Malta. The /!\ I AM A STUPID SPAMMER /!\ We are no racists. We are not so familiar with Mauritius and we are not sure why these people do not write in red ink. Do you know the answer?

A 15 minutes grace period is nothing in Malta. We have always traffic jams and therefore we have a 30 minutes grace period.

We watch TV over here and we know that a British prince has to rub his nose when he visits New Zealand.

Our Maltese culture is unique. However, up to now I do not understand why they hunt birds Do you hunt birds in Mauritius?

Malta love the cats and hedgehogs but shoot the birds (high altitude and in the bird parks).
Fireworks - daytime night time every week of the year.
What a great experience.
