Yes, I'm sure I'll have a great time and the people will be lovely. :)

Just curious, what do young people do to have fun on weekends in Vietnam? I guess it will be similar to Australia, have dinner with friends and then go out and get drunk!

Hi Rose. I left Vietnam when I was 4 and went back two years ago for the first time. I was a little nervous because till that point I never traveled overseas before, but it was great! I loved it and that's why I'm going back. :)

I understand, it's reason you don't know about the life in Vietnam ^^ . So, Can you speak Vietnamese? If you want to be more understand about Vietnam, you can be explore in history and culture of Vietnam, will have many things exciting for you. ^^
And, i want to tell you, if the young of Vietnam want to go outside for entertainment, it's not only in weekend ^^ It can anytime, if they are free time.^^ In the weekend, they often go to coffee bar; go picnic; sing karaoke; enjoy traditional food in restaurant or focus in house of 1 any member in group to cooking by themself; go to cinema; go to bar DJ,go drink ice tea on public sidewalks ... or simple just stay at home to listen to music, talking on phone( some hours for girls and playing game (for boy) ... ^^

Its only when you're there then you can experience the REAL lifestyle & culture of Vietnam. Reading it is not enough...

Yes, I can speak Vietnamese but very rarely and usually just to my parents :)

It's good to know that people don't just wait for the weekend to have fun.
I will have a lot of free time and want to experience as much of the culture as possible.

Really looking forward to going to a karaoke bar for some reason.

Khoa

Ok, it's finally here, I'm off to Vietnam! :)
Should get there sometime tomorrow afternoon and will probably stay in District 1.

Drop me a line at kranoath@yahoo.com.au if anyone want to meet up.
