Hi Sayad,

You need to elaborate your question accurately. A person is not eligible for a passport, but for a citizenship.
... "and got the process no"  ?

Hi Tina,

If you have requested her birth registry and still haven't received a reply: you should go in person to a registration office (IRN) to clarify what is happening, and where you should go to speed up the process. But you will probably need to make an advance appointment. It's weird, because it has already been 2 years?...

If you have already started the nationality process for your mother, you can see the status of her process. Find out more here:

If you are outside Portugal, you can send an email to IRN explaining your case and find out the status of your mother's application (you should identify your mother by putting her birth registration application number). IRN exists only in Portugal:

https://www.irn.mj.pt/sections/irn/a_re … -servicos/

IRN - Conservatória dos Registos Centrais
Rua Rodrigo da Fonseca, 198
1099-003 em Lisboa
Phone: 351 213817600
Fax:   351 213817698
E-mail: registos.centrais@irn.mj.pt

Or contact the Portuguese consulate in London, although I think they only deal with birth certificates for citizens with Portuguese citizenship.

Hi Tina,

I would like to help you but I can't. These emails can take some time to be answered. Check with the Portuguese consulate in London. They will probably be able to advise you better.

You can search for a solicitor at the link I gave you.  You can send them an email in english, explaining your problem.  :)
