Iqama Profession Conversion

Hi Everyone,

I would like to get information that is Maintenance mechanical assistant (Technician) iqama can be converted into any Computer/Software Engineer iqama. I possess the Computer Engineering degree and initially company is planning to send me on Technician visa. Is it possible to change the iqama profession ? If yes, what is the procedure and how much the tentatively charges ? Plus if someone tell me the logical differences in terms of benefits/setbacks of having technician visa as compared to engineer. that would be great.
