Residents of VT, locals as well as expats, will have the chance to be vaccinated in the immediate future.  The vaccines are purchased by the government and the government is running out of money (hence the daily mail asking for contributions to the vaccine fund) so there's a price tag to all who want to receive the shots.

It's not expensive as far as expats are concerned.  Pfizer will be about $40, and Astra Seneca will be about $15.  The government will pay for the cost of transport, storage, and vaccination.

I don't know where you heard this information....
I somehow doubt China would be sending any vaccinations to Australia due to the current political relations.
The Govt. is pushing to have everyone living in Australia vaccinated no matter what nationality, color, creed.

Correct, the air cleans up significantly during the Tet holiday too. Once again I can easily see aircraft on their final approach to Tan Son Nhat airport from my apartment in Phu My Hung.

I've found this news online, that in July there will be a trial program for people who are coming in Vietnam (and are already vaccinated) will have to undergo only 7 days of quarantine.
This is valid only for Quang Ninh province (Ha Long Bay) home of Van Don Airport.

Unfortunately using classic flight websites (momondo, skyscanner) I was not able to find many flight going to this airport, neither their website was useful:
https://vandonairport.vn/
Instead with flightradar I was able to understand that this airport serves only flights from HCMC (VietJet Air and Bamboo Airways):
https://www.flightradar24.com/airport/vdo/arrivals

Now, I was wondering how one can go to this airport in order to do the 7 days quarantine if it has to use an internal flight?
Has any of you had any experience with this airport?

Otherwise if not by plane, one can be escorted by car (medically equipped) to this province?

(I hope I posted in the proper thread, given it is an official news)

Sad to hear that they make it so complicated. The majority of Vietnamese are suffering badly economically. All those in the private sector.
Those employed the the Government get their pay.
They have to open smarter and faster than this.

i would assume that you would book a flight to Saigon or hanoi and then will get transferred to a flight into vd airport.

Hmmm...yes, but does it mean that one person coming from outside Vietnam will be "mixed" with other people (already in Vietnam) and that the person coming from outside will head to quarantine, while the rest not. Still they met.
I mean this is my understanding, which is not clear to me.

How can we or where can we sign up for the vaccines

Just found out that my sister in law was at work three weeks ago and they closed the business for COVID.  She works in IT.  The bummer of it was she was at work at the time so she got quarantined AT WORK!.  They told her it would be 14 days.  After 14 days they told her it would be 14 more.  She has now been stuck at the office for three running weeks!  Have to cook, eat and sleep at the office.  Ridiculous!  Fortunately their two small children were at the grandparents (my in-laws) before this all happened so there's someone to take care of them.

That's awful. I truly feel bad for her. Where did she get the groceries to cook her meals?  What about clothing?  What about a charging cable so she can talk to her family?  What about soap and shampoo and towels?  I assume there's a shower?

I have many questions.  My husband has only one: Did the power that be at least vaccinate them?

If you live in Saigon, the vaccines are coming to some areas already.  You can check with UBND where you're registered to see if you're qualified.

I don't have any details other than my wife told me that she's been stuck there for three weeks already.  I don't know if it's an office building or a factory.

L' ultima cosa da farsi, è partire ora per il Viet Nam.I lavoratori sono chiusi nelle aziende, dove mangiano e dormono.
È tutto chiuso e addirittura il mangiare è carente.....è tutto CHIUSO.

Mr Thicko here, can you clarify UBND please?

Si prega di utilizzare l'inglese su questi forum.  I forum di lingua italiana si trova in Forum Vietnam.

(Please use English on the English speaking forum.  The Italian speaking forum can be found in Forum Vietnam.)

BTW, it's not "EVERYTHING is closed, all workers are locked up in the companies, and FOOD IS IN SHORT SUPPLY."  Just because you read about ONE instance doesn't mean it happens all over the country.

Many parts of Vietnam are under quarantine, the same way almost the entire country of Italy was during the first and second waves of COVID.  Don't you remember the more than 60 million people under lockdown for 11 months and the 128k deaths in Italy?  Don't you remember when absolutely no one was allowed to be outside of their homes in Italy, not even to visit a neighbour in need?

My friends were fined 1000 Euro for driving the 5 km from Lerchi to Cittta di Castello to buy groceries.  The reason?  They were only allowed to shop for essentials in their own village.  Do you know how small Lerchi is?  It's a frazione of CdiC, population 500, and there has never been a market there.  Everyone in Lerchi went to CdiC to buy groceries, except during COVID.  I don't know how they ate in those 11 months aside from what they grew in their gardens, so don't you make up fake news saying there's food shortage in Vietnam!

Do not spread exaggerated rumors to create fear, please.  FYI, the government in Vietnam has jailed people for doing the same thing as you're doing now, but since you're living in Italy, you are safe spreading false information about Vietnam from afar, giusto?

Sorry, Mr Thicko, we've been using UBND on the forum so many times I didn't think of writing the name in English.  It's Uy Ban Nhan Dan  (there are accents, of course, but the bug doesn't allow me to use them), or People's Committee, or the ward authority, or the ward police force.  I don't want to use "police force" because they handle everything from A to Z including non-police matters.

I asked my wife tonight.  She didn't have many details.  The company brings in food for the people that are there.  It is an office building.   They do have a shower.  Beyond that my wife doesn't even know how many people are there other than it isn't a big company.

Residents of Long My, a village in Dat Do District in Ba Ria, 20km from Vung Tau, received the first dose of their selected vaccines today.  The rest of Dat Do will be vaccinated next week.

Vung Tau hasn't received any directive on the vaccination yet.

I'm afraid I won't even know if they start vaccinating in my neighborhood.  I checked notices in the lobby, but saw nothing new.  Is there some online source for this info?

There isn't any online source for vaccination schedule.  Check with either People's Committee  (UBND - Ủy Ban Nhân Dân) or the Ward Clinic (Trạm Y Tế) where you live.

Hi everyone,

I regret but this thread needs to be closed now due to a few reports received.

I  have also removed a few posts from this thread. Note that we are not here to argue or to criticize VN government.

Thanks,
