Hi guys, i was wondering if we may need health insurance for entry into VN because of Covid. Is a certificate of this needed?
If so, just a copy of the policy?  Or something to say they cover Covid

Health insurance is q goid idea regardless of circumstances, health care here isnt bad but can vary from hospital to hospital as does the cost

For now makes now difference the borders are still closed

I watched a program on BBC World News the other day & it said that wearing a smart watch daily can give the wearer early warning of a possible Covid infection so I want to get one. Any forum members can give subjective advice on the best one to get taking into account functions & cost. BP, Pulse & skin temp were mentioned in the article.

Save yourself a lot of money.

Just buy yourself an inexpensive battery operated thermometer.

Any pharmacy has them.

Your temperature is the number one sign of infection.

Just take your temperature twice a day and watch for any significant rise in temperature.

Don't eat or drink anything within 10 minutes of taking your temp.

Avoid taking your temp after exercise.

Good luck, and don't forget to regularly use hand sanitizer or wash your hands with soap and water.

Hi y’all,I have been accepted to enter vn  Jan 28,  I hold the following documents:
Letter for  entry inc  basic voa,  prepaid insurance, prepaid hotel for quarantine, prepaid air ticket,
Price more then double pre Covid
Never been in lockdown before  pray I maintain  sanity.

Just bought the Mi Band 5 purely because it was swim proof, two weeks battery... 685k on shopee.
How it can alert you to covid is a mystery, msybe the continuos heart rate monitor or stress checking, anyway good price and very good so far

There's an excellent chance they won't catch covid - mostly because they're extremely likely to die of a cow dung related disease before they have chance to catch it.

Well considering the lack of info on the issue on the Cambodia Forum you just provided the link for, it just might be that someone on the Vietnam Forum & more informative than you might just might have some friends there who could reply to the question.

Suppose they might if they had any vaccines going spare. From what I understand they are in short supply. Well thats what the ....fat & broke guy says on YouTube & he is an expert on all things Vietnam or so he says.
Anyways got a favor to ask.......if you have time when you get back home can you bung me a vaccine doze (preferably the J & J single shot) in a jiffy bag  full of ice & DHL me over please...thanks in advance!

COVID-19 is getting closer to home.  The Ministop on Phạm Viết Chánh in Bình Thạnh that I often go to is closed.  A worker there told me an F0 case had visited the store.  The Coop a few blocks down and the new grocery near it were also closed, probably for the same reason.  Fortunately the Vinmart a block from my apartment was open, so I stocked up. 

The neighborhood of my friend, close to Dĩ An in Binh Duong, is now in self-quarantine for 21 days -- maybe I will soon be locked down, too.

I'll have to find the report, but yesterday I read that 22 staff in local hospital tested positive, some of which claimed to have been vaccinated previously..

This is a (long) excerpt from a much longer article published yesterday, June 12, on PLO, the Law newspaper of UBND TP HCM:

Late on June 12, 22 employees of HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases were tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 even though all have received 2 doses of vaccine.

This hospital is the frontline unit against the epidemic in the South, which was prioritized by the MoH to inject its 900+ employees with AstraZeneca.  To date, all staff have completed 2 doses of vaccines with the first round took place on March 8 and the second phase completed in late April.

Commenting on the issue, Dr. Le Quoc Hung, Head of the Department of Tropical Diseases at Cho Ray Hospital, said that after being fully vaccinated, the body needs time to produce enough antibodies to fight the virus.

“Vaccination cannot protect the person against the disease.  Vaccines, like any medicine, have a protective effect ranging from 75% to 90% or 95%.  For example, if 100 people get vaccinated, only 75 to 95 people can be prevented from the risk of infection, the other 5 to 25 people still get infected because their bodies do not produce enough antibodies.  Even people who have had COVID-19 can get it again, so nothing is absolute.  Still, vaccination has many benefits as it helps already infected patients to avoid severe progression.  Vaccination also helps to protect the people in the first circle of the infected person.  For example, a doctor who is infected with the virus through a patient, when vaccinated will be able to prevent the risk of infection, meaning he'll not bring the disease home to infect his family.

“Therefore, people should not be overly optimist.  If the mass vaccination rate reaches 70-80% of the population, the whole community is protected from the risk of infectious diseases.  In the meantime, vaccination must be combined with other measures.  The best measure is 5K, which has proven to be effective, inexpensive, readily available, and easy to implement.  Even with people who don't have antibodies or are not vaccinated, 5K will still help to prevent them from being infected."

A representative of AstraZeneca said that after two trials, the vaccine has shown to be well tolerated and effective in preventing COVID-19.

Results from the clinical trials show that 22 days after the first dose, AstraZeneca provides maximum protection against severe illness, hospitalization and death from COVID-19.  Within 90 days after the first dose, the potency is 76% and this protective effect is maintained up to the second dose.  If the interval between two doses is 12 weeks or more, vaccine potency increases to 81%.  The analysis also shows that the vaccine has the potential to reduce the risk of asymptomatic transmission by two-thirds."
