Marry an Omani Citizen

Post new topic

pleaseanswermyquestions

I'm about to marry an Omani citizen this year. We have for 7 years together and finally he asked me to tie the knot. We have some problems with his requirements. He needs a Legal Capacity to marry certificate from his embassy here in Philippines. I emailed then and they replied but they said he need to request it in oman. But oman doesn't agree foreign marriages. So I dont think so they will give him. Can I still get married to him or is it just a heartache?

You can certainly marry him but you will never get the citizenship of Oman as per the country's laws.

Hi
As stated by Schaz, you can marry him but you will never get the citizenship of Oman, if you require in the future, unless he will be able to issue the permission to marry from outside. Also, your kids are not going to have eligibility for health care or education in Oman.

Oman agrees to foreign marriages given the fact that the Omani applicant fulfills their requirements to apply and they are fair enough for both sexes in fact.

Using his/her civil ID an application can be filed at the ministry of interior and it takes them a while to issue the permission for this marriage. Here's a link to make your life easy: https://bit.ly/3anDDwO

Citizenship for the non-omani wife or husband will be given at a later stage and healthcare and education is till this date free of charge.
