COVID-19 and expatriation in Japan

Loïc

Hello everybody,

The COVID-19 crisis inevitably impacts Japan, between closed airports or periods of containment in some cities or even the entire country .
We would like to hear from you during this unusual period, to find out what the consequences of this pandemic are on your expatriation or expatriation project in Japan.

Does the current crisis call into question your long-term expatriation project?
If you are already settled in Japan, do you plan to return to your home country?

How are you living through such an uncertain period, especially if you are far from your loved ones?

Have any of you ended your expatriation in Japan unexpectedly?

Paradoxically, has this crisis brought you closer to some people?

What are your plans for the future?

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Hope you are doing well.

Loïc.

Hello,

People around the world are worried about this pandemic outbreak. There still no medication that can stop it. With the cancellation of school, universities, work, events  everyone know this virus is a kind of threat to mankind. Talking about the foreigner like me specifically residing in Japan. I will say definitely it will effect my plans and preparation to live in Japan. With the closure of my company i am in 60 percent paid leave for one month. It may get change with the followed notice or the vacation may get longer for more than six month. If the holidays get longer the company will be unable to pay for it member so long. It means i have to use my saving to live my life over here. The future is so uncertain that if the country economic condition get worse even after the coronavirus get controlled there is a chance for losing employment. It may effect the visa status so for now there’s no hope rather than watching news saving ourself from this pandemic and praying for this to get end so we will be able to get on with our lives. After then only we will came to knew about the consequences this disease may bring.

Thank you
