i would like to be know behalf of my first 6 month permesso di soggiorno in italy.is that possible to travel malta.not yet get carta di residentia.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

A permesso di soggiorno is an Italian resident permit, nothing else; together with your own national passport, it does enable you to travel to other Schengen countries as a tourist. Malta is a Schengen country, so you could go there on vacation, but not work or stay longer than 90 days.

Not much point in thinking about moving to Malta at the moment as everything is shut down and if you managed to get here you would have to go into quarantine for two weeks.
