permit classe K

Post new topic

Peter609

Hi

I have a few questions about the requirements for a permit class K
How can I prove my incomes?
Are bank statements enough?
A Valid Organization Tax Compliance Certificate what is this (I am Belgian)
Can I complete the application while I'm in Belgium?

thanks in advance for your answers

Hi There.

1. How can I prove my incomes? The applicant must have at his free and full disposition an assured income of not less than USD 25,000 per year, derived from sources outside the country and remitted to Kenya. Eg, pension, rental income, interests, dividends, personal savings etc etc. They must be verifiable.

2. Are bank statements enough? Yes, a Bank statement accompanied by a letter from the issuing bank that is verifiable is sufficient.

3. A Valid Organization Tax Compliance Certificate what is this (I am Belgian) - Tax compliance should refer to an applicant who is already resident in Kenya. This is however subject to verification.

4. Can I complete the application while I'm in Belgium? Yes you may.

Thanks for your very helpful answer Elvis
so i don't need the Tax Compliance Certificate.
When i have all the necessary documents i understand i have to pay.
do i have send the documents online or do i have to send them ?how does this work?

Hi,
As you are not a registered Tax payer in Kenya, ie, you do not have a registered PIN. Means you are not eligible for a Tax Compliance certificate.

Once you have filled out and submitted the soft copies online, a set of hard copies must be presented to the DOI as well, You shall definitely need someone to deliver the hard copies. I believe you can achieve this via courier or/ and alternatively look for an agent to assist.

Hallo
I suspect you can help me
I need a accompanying letter and deliver the document to the DOI
Now what are you asking for doing this?

what happens if u dont get 25k dollars pension and want to retire there

Then I would say that it would be difficult and you certainly wouldn't get a Class K Permit.  Your option might be to spend 6 months there on a tourist (Single Entry) visa, then 6 months back in your home country.

Kenya, like many other countries need to see evidence that you would have enough finances to support yourself if you lived there.

Peter, I would strongly suggest that you don't use any agent, or person that you don't 100% know and trust.

Greetings,
I'm also applying for a class K permit.  I'm completing the form and will submit the hard copies to the DOI, as I will be in Kenya in a couple of weeks.
Peter maybe you will be well served if you hire an attorney in Nairobi.

The USD 25K is a statutory benchmark. As a retiree in Kenya, the DOI wants to be sure that.
1. You shall be able to sustain yourself in Kenya without interruption.
2. That you shall not participate or undertake in any gainful employment or Business.
3. That a s retiree you shall not get "stranded" or become a burden to the government.

So it is simply a matter of compliance.

Zorander7:  Why ask this question then;

"what happens if u dont get 25k dollars pension and want to retire there"
