Dear Expats.

We are a German/Croatian couple that currently live and work in Dublin Ireland.  But we plan to settle to Sweden for a new phase of life.
And have a few questions. And would be thankful for your reply or feedback.

I am a Healthcare Assistant and my Husband is a Baker. We are currently learning Swedish. And are looking for work in Uppsala or Stockholm. And we would like to ask you do you know how the current situation in the job market is? Due the worldwide Covid19 crisis. Was it become more difficult in Sweden with finding a job?

Tack så mycket,

Med vänliga hälsningar,

Lea

Hello Lea, Welcome to the forum!

Yes job market in Sweden is in turbulence but at the same time country is moving forward slowly compares to some other countries in the western world, so it is hard to say how things will affect different individuals personally.

Qualified baker and personal assistant jobs are actually good jobs even in periods like this, not that hard to find compares to some over paid academical positions but compares to some other necessary service professions for instance like professional driver, mechanic etc. maybe not that easy to find either. So to conclude it is kind of a 50 50 situation right now in Swedish job market.

Maybe you want to read little bit about both professions and have a look on vacancies from the job bank- Swedish public employment service, then here are the links

To focus on English speaking personal assistant jobs is something I can tip you, it does not mean that you don't need to know Swedish but it will be a clear merit when sometimes they seek for personal assistants who speak other languages and maybe you master more other languages.

Now I have a personal question :) If your profile name is also your real name it sounds like an Ashkenazi name, are you?
