Welcome to the forums.

So my first question - are you applying or have you applied for residency?   With your residency comes the bringing of your household goods without exorbitant duty and taxes.

Without residency you will pay duty and sales tax on the value of pretty much everything you bring in.  And that will add up!

Peralta Bros serves Toronto and Montreal....
I think they only operate in the summer months - give them a call

Yes - wait for your residency and duty free. I can attest. I sent my "personal" stuff and was charged duty on everything , including used clothes. A complete household will be eye watering.....me thinks....

Using a mudanza like Peralto Bros minimizes the tax - even eliminates it in some cases

Mudanzas are the way to go.....

But certainly waiting for the residency and the 6 mo window is the way to

If going 'normally' - you need a freight forwarder...
try talking to Hispaniola Freight in Sto Dom..... Wendoline De Pena
