Renting in Thailand

I am moving to Bangkok in August and am very excited! I will be working at one of the Internatinal schools near the Suvarnabumi airport and need a little advice to help when I have to make the decision of where to live! I will be working some 25 KM out of the centre but still want to feel that I live in a city. I would really appreciate some advice as to where to live which means that ideally I can get to work easily but still feel 'part of it'. I hope this isn't too big an ask - would appreciate any local knowledge!!

Maybe this is too late to reply - you could try Bang Na. At least then you'd be on the Skytrain for getting into 'town' for eating and going out sometimes. That airport is faaaar away from the city though. The school probably has a mini-bus service to collect kids from areas like Bang Na. Good luck :)

Thai Real Estate info says you an buy a holiday condo for 10.000 USD in Hua-Hin, the favorite resort 'town' of the Thai nobility.

It is clean and safe. And there is golf, too. But no hanky-panky!

Is a good idea?
