Hello everyone!

I hope you're well.

How does it feel to be locked down once again in your expat country?

How are you coping with work, family and the absence of social life?

What about your children's schooling?

Feel free to share your feelings with us by replying on this thread.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards,

The current "Lockdown Light" is not as strict as the one in spring. Schools, companies and shops (other than restaurants and entertainment outlets) are open and social life is possible as long as only two households meet. This time it's more a bother than a real difficulty (except of course for those who lost their job or business).

I would add to Beppi's response that bars and cafes are closed as are cinemas, theaters, fitness studios, hair and nail salons and most events. Most university buildings have been closed since the early spring.

They are trying to keep schools and nurseries open but when a kid tests positive then usually the whole class gets quarantined for up to 2 weeks. A number of kids over time and a whole school can be shut down.

Masks are required in shops and most businesses, in public transportation and in bus and train stations. Masks are recommended but not required on the street but people should keep distance and avoid contact.
